I feel an odd obligation to continue feeding this blog on the off chance there is a curious mind wondering as to why Koaw Nature didn’t drop a video last week.
I was planning on releasing a quick weekly about identifying bird feathers. Once I was in the field and engaged in the process, I felt it would be redundant to offer viewers what is already available on the web. I decided to make a longer video showing how I used the online databases freely available to us. It should help a person or two out in the future as they seek to identify feathers. That video is here.
My life? I strive to achieve tasks. Everyday is an opportunity to better myself and learn more about the marvels of Nature. If you don’t know my backstory, then I’ll sum it up for you. Or you can just watch this video titled “Once Dying, Addicted and Insane.” Well, the title pretty much sums it up for you. Yup. Before I was an evolutionary biologist, I was stuck in a chaotic loop of addiction that almost cost me my life. Life is pretty good now. I’m practicing three foreign languages on a daily basis, working non-stop, and trying to find relaxation when I can. Going outdoors is always a top priority for me.
Speaking of the now: I have no idea where I’ll be living in a month. I have always been a transient individual. Going place to place, staying with friends and family or just traveling around while exploring the world. The pandemic has caused my future housing options to shift. I have many people willing to house me for a brief period of time while I find my next nest. I enjoy the unknown because there is always an answer waiting to be discovered.
Thanks for reading. -Koaw
(PS - The website restructuring is taking much more effort than previously anticipated. I’m sort of kicking myself for mapping it out so poorly when I first set it up. Live and learn. )
